Indexing sets both series to the same starting value of 100. A later value of 130 means the measure is 30% higher than at the starting point. It helps compare direction and growth without pretending revenue dollars and free-cash-flow dollars are the same scale.

Growth creates more value when the company can turn sales into durable profit and cash. Rising margins can support a higher valuation, while shrinking margins may indicate pricing pressure, higher costs, or heavy reinvestment.
